Taipei, April 29, 2009 (CENS)--In line with the resolution of the World Health Organization (WHO) to upgrade the alert level for H1N1 flu, or swine flu, to phase four, the Executive Yuan (the Cabinet) established the central pandemic command center yesterday (April 28), ready to combat the new strain of flu which appears destined to hit the island. Yeh Chin-chuan, minister of the Cabinet-level Department of Health, cautioned local people to prepare for the worst, as "the tropical depression has formed into a typhoon which will inevitably hit Taiwan."
