While regional attention is deservedly focused on the LAX Master Plan process, air travelers in the northern half of Los Angeles County have been wondering for years when Burbank Airport would ever get a much needed new passenger terminal. Since 80% of Burbank's locally residing passengers are also LAX passengers, they know only too well that the fates of the two airports go hand in hand.

Favored by many for short haul flights along the West Coast, Burbank Airport has two long-standing problems.
