Prudential HealthCare wins $225 million bid to cover Raytheon employees

NORTH DALLAS - Prudential HealthCare-North Texas has emerged the victor in a fight to provide health care for North Texas employees of Raytheon TI Systems and Raytheon E-Systems.

Competition for the contract was intensified by its sheer size - about 48,000 local Raytheon employees and their dependents.

The contract represents about $75 million to $80 million in annual premiums, according to industry sources.

As a result of its win, Prudential will scurry to bolster its health provider network with additional doctors, specialists and other caregivers, insiders' say. The company …
