When it comes to entrepreneurial success stories, South Florida is full of them.

The evidence: five of eight companies honored at Ernst & Young's Florida Entrepreneur of the Year awards gala Thursday night in Orlando were from Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. The winners competed against 24 companies from across the state.

National Healthnet Corp.

No. 1 in the manufacturing category: National Healthnet Corp. in Boca Raton. The 18-month-old company specializes in the design, development, marketing and management of disease management and wound treatment centers located in outpatient facilities and home health agencies across the country.

National Healthnet is a private company with plans to go public next year. …
