Portland -- Halton Co., the exclusive Caterpillar dealer for Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington, has appointed Tanner Halton to executive vice president and general manager.
In his new role, Halton will oversee the strategic direction of Halton Co. He is focused on helping the company his grandfather founded 69 years ago weather the current economic environment by positioning it for growth. Halton has already made changes to the company's service model designed to streamline the sales and service experience for customers.
"Customer service is my top priority. The industries we serve have been going through a time of change and transition. As a result, we have streamlined our model to better meet the needs of our customers," Halton said.
Halton is the third generation in his family to oversee the heavy equipment distributor and service provider, and gained knowledge of the company by working in each of the Halton's sectors -- from credit collections to branch operations manager and product support manager.
Before joining Halton Co. in 2002, Halton worked for a Caterpillar dealership in Atlanta, GA. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance from The Citadel. Halton is a member of the board for the Community Transitional School as well as for Portland Center Stage.
