RFID is paying its way for a Hong Kong-based fashion chain that says the smart-tag technology has helped jack up its sales revenue by 20% on average.

Mi-tu--a brand of Hong Kong-headquartered Magazzin Group, which owns eight mi-tu outlets in Hong Kong and another 13 in Macau and mainland China--has deployed an RFID system from Schimidt at two of its Hong Kong shops. RFID tags are attached to every piece of clothes shown in the shops, and RFID readers are hidden behind walls next to mirrors, fitting rooms and the VIP corner where a interactive monitor is installed.
