The National Farmers' Union is to support a Devon dairy farmer as he seeks leave to appeal against a decision over his legal challenge to Defra's TB "table values".

David Partridge, who farms at Washfield, near Tiverton, is taking his case to the House of Lords after the Court of Appeal overturned a High Court decision in his favour.

Last July, the High Court upheld his complaint that Defra's approach to the valuation of high-value animals that had to be slaughtered after testing positive to bovine TB was unlawful.
