GIRE, the Grupo de Informacion en Reproduccion Elegida (Reproductive Choice Information Group) is a touchstone in Mexico and throughout the region on issues of sexual and reproductive rights and above all on abortion. The active participation of GIRE in the women's movement has been of vital importance in promoting the recognition of women's right to choose a safe and legal abortion.
