Visitor attractions across North Devon are to invite the public in for free as part of a series of Heritage Open Days.

The events from September 10-13 will celebrate England's rich architecture, history and culture.

For the past two years, Barnstaple has been the focus of the North Devon open days organised by the Civic Trust. But now they are to stretch across the entire north of the county in tandem with events nationwide.

Castles, factories, town halls, barns, parish churches, Buddhist temples, orchards and woodlands will all be open for tours and events.
