Section: General News - Minerals development firm, SMI (Sagittarius Mines, Inc.) has adopted the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR) as it aims to help raise the level of awareness on voluntary principles in the region.

The move is in keeping to SMI's commitment to high ethical standards in its engagements with public and private security agencies as well as host communities where it is currently exploring for mineral resource.

SMI communications manager John Arnaldo said the company recently initiated a VPSHR trainers' workshop to 21 SMI employees and 13 representatives from the government and local non-government organizations like …
