On March 8, at about 10:30 p.m., when Pizza Hut employee Christopher Miller arrived at an address in Irmo, South Carolina, to deliver a pizza, he was met by Paul Sturgill, 17, who was standing outside. They were immediately joined by two additional men emerging from a patch of woods nearby.
The men, who did not live in the home and were unknown to the resident, according to Lexington County Sheriff James Metts, had ordered the pizza using a cellphone. They had planned to rob whoever made the delivery. Their intent became clear to Miller, according to details of a report on WSPA local channel 7 TV, when Sturgill attacked and began to beat Millet about the face and head.
