The SanPete Messenger reported that in rural Centerfield, Utah, on Match 8, a man chose to commit an armed robbery at a local store.
The incident began, according to the Centerfield Police Department, when a female clerk at Walkers Market emptied a trash container behind the store during the nightly closing procedures. In the darkness a local man, Antonio Ramos, 42, pointed a rifle at her and made her re-enter the store. He followed, gaining entry.
A surveillance camera shows Ramos pushing the clerk ahead of him, with the gun at her back. Ramos forced the woman and a second female clerk to lock the doors. He demanded money; then to render the women completely helpless, he ordered one of the clerks to tie the other up.
The video camera captured the action as Ramos laid his gun on the counter to tie the second clerk. While he was busy binding the clerk, the clerk who had been bound managed to free herself sufficiently to grab the rifle from the counter.
