Antonio Thompson apparently made several bad decisions that ultimately cost him his life. Basic facts in varying accounts in the Daily World, an Associated Press release in USA Today, and a story in the (Lafayette, La.) Daily Advertiser were confirmed by Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue.
On March 3, Thompson, 19, and a friend, Gavin Herbert, 18, with the suspected aid of Charles Grace, 34, in planning the crime, invaded a home, lay in wait, and robbed the resident, Kaninski Larnette, at gunpoint, and then Thompson invaded Larnette's girlfriend's home seeking more loot.
Ville Platte Police Lt. Craig Nicholas, quoted in the March 6, Times-Picayune, indicated that Thompson and Herbert had already robbed Larnette when Thompson forced Larnette to his girlfriend Nedra Gallow's home at gunpoint.
