Netscape hopes to kick some life into Web-site outsourcing by offering a suite of servers that allow telecommunications carriers and ISPs to offer broad intranet and extranet hosting services.

Available by the year's end, the Netscape SuiteSpot Hosting Edition will provide messaging and/or Web-site hosting facilities specifically geared for small businesses and perhaps departments within larger companies.

Netscape has partnered with hardware vendors such as Digital, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Silicon Graphics, and Sun Microsystems to optimize Hosting Edition to scale SuiteSpot's services so that the telecommunication carriers and the Internet service providers …
