In November, I had a valuable opportunity to participate in a series of meetings in London, Paris and Oslo. In London, the impacts of the global financial crisis were starkly evident in the daily media projections of growing unemployment, potentially estimated to reach over 3 million, a figure not unlike that of the UK recession in the 1980s.
