Kat Randall is entering the seventh grade. She and her dog Chedder are best friends. They do everything together. As Kat is entering the second week of school, her beloved dog Chedder was badly hit. Kat is still in school and doesn't know, but has a sense that something's wrong. So, she borrows a bike from a kid at school. When she calms down, she remembers that school is still going on. However, the bike that she borrowed was stolen. Not only does Kat have Chedder to worry about but she also has to find a job so that she can buy a new bike for the kid at school.
