Let's face it: Hipsters have been wearing hats for years. And while the tattooed waitress at our favorite bar looks positively adorable in her fedora, it's been hard to shake the sneaking suspicion that trying one ourselves would merely make us look like a hopeless poseur (trucker hat, anyone?). That is, until now.
This spring, hats have gone haute, as the trend that percolated for so long on the streets finally bubbled up to the runway in a profusion of bowlers, boaters, and more. Seeing how a bucket hat worked with a range of silhouettes at Burberry, and marveling at the visor's star turn at Michael Kors, we wanted to run out and get one for ourselves.
Sure, there are a few hairstyling tweaks to learn, and some basic rules when it comes to choosing just the right topper for any outfit. But an accessory of the moment that also happens to hide roots, frizz, misbehaving cowlicks, and other hair-destroying instigators? We'll drink to that.
