Right now, everyone is thinking about and talking about going green. Like a lot of other owners, I've added solar panels to my salon, as well as an air-circulation system to cut down on AC, and I'm happy that more products are being made with recycled packaging. Styling is changing, too. A lot of my favorite looks are electricity-free, and not just because they save energy. Hairstyles without heat usually look less fussy and a lot sexier.
UNPLUGGED
I often skip blow-drying after I do a haircut. On damp hair, I'll work in a dab of cream or pomade and tousle it into shape. With a good cut, you can have great texture, and that's a style in itself.
Straight Hair
For fine hair, get a cut with long layers all around. Squirt a thickening spray through damp hair and let it air-dry. If your hair is so straight that it looks lank when left to air-dry, sprinkle baby powder at the roots afterward and comb it through. Then pull the hair into an elastic just above the nape of the neck, and twist it into a bun.
