Kiev, 14 April: The Ukrainian cabinet has advised the National Electricity Regulatory Commission to increase gas and electricity rates for certain population groups, acting Finance Minister Ihor Umanskyy told journalists after the cabinet meeting today.

He said that the cabinet advised the national commission to increase gas rates by 5 per cent for those who consume more than 2,500 cu.m. of gas annually, and by 1 per cent for those who consume more than 6,000 cu.m. of gas annually.
