Brigham and Women's Hospital MA will pay $1.6 million to a female neurosurgeon who endured a hostile work environment and retaliation.
A jury found that Dr. Sagun Tuli was subjected to "harassment, ridicule, intimidation and other abusive conduct" motivated in part by her gender and/or national origin (Tuli is from India) by the hospital and her boss, Dr. Arthur Day. He allegedly made demeaning comments to Tuli such as saying during a 2007 surgery. "You are just a girl. Are you sure you can do that?"
