Three months and near- ly 10,000 miles into our yearlong evaluation of Jaguar's 2009 XF Supercharged, the big cat is purring along perfectly. Almost.
We've noticed a few minor electrical glitches, all of which healed themselves, and we're not entirely sold on the car's underwhelming styling. But in the overall analysis, the verdict so far is that Jaguar's effort to replace the X-Type and the S-Type is a resounding success.
Electronics, good and bad, provoked the lion's share of commentary from staffers during our first forays in the XF. On the plus side, we're giving a universal thumbs-up to the blind-spot-detection system, which lights a telltale car icon in the sideview mirrors when another vehicle is lurking in the invisibility zone created by the XF's swoopy styling and huge C-pillars.
