RESIDENTS in the Upper Dales who have been without an NHS dentist since last year will see temporary services resumed later this month.
Patients say they have had to travel 50 miles to Catterick Garrison for dental care, since operator Primecare withdrew from its NHS contract in Hawes last October.
After NHS North Yorkshire and York failed to find a permanent solution, a temporary system will be put into place until a provider can be found.
Under the arrangements, Catterick-based Alpha Dental Care will provide NHS services for one day a week in Hawes, and four days in Leyburn. …
