IOCT may set production quotas for tuna producers.

from THE JAKARTA POST -- TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 2009 -- PAGE 14 The Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC), which groups together 28 tuna producing countries, plans to impose a production quota over concerns that tuna stocks in the region have been rapidly depleting.

IOTC executive secretary Alexandro Anganuzzi told a press conference after the opening of the commission's 13th annual meeting in Denpasar, on Monday that the discussion on the production quotas would be one of key issues to be discussed during the event scheduled to continue until April 3.
