ITEM: U.S. News & World Report for February 20, 2009 interviewed Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), the new chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Waxman said that "broader legislation" is needed beyond the passage of the so-called economic stimulus bill. "What we need to move to is legislation to deal with global warming.... It's the key to our revitalized economy and our longterm prosperity as a nation."
