US BILLIONAIRE Donald Trump has accused a north-east councillor of staging a 'publicity stunt' after she claimed locked gates at his Aberdeenshire estate were preventing the public from visiting the site.
Tycoon Mr Trump made the allegation after Aberdeenshire councillor Debra Storr complained that the practice contravened access laws in an interview with the Press and Journal.
The Trump organisation rejected her claims and said some gates were locked to prevent vehicle access as the estate has had problems with 4x4s and quad bikes.
As reported yesterday, Ms Storr has now lodged a formal complaint with Grampian Police Chief Constable Colin McKerracher because security staff blocked her car as she tried to leave the estate on Saturday after taking pictures of the locked gates.
In an open letter to the Ellon and district councillor -- who voted against the tycoon's golf resort -- Mr Trump says the estate has 'always and will continue to comply with relevant laws and has never barred the public from our site'.
