THERE'S not much that scares me. Well, actually, spiders, snakes and weird seaweed all scare me. What I mean is that there hasn't really been a motoring experience yet that has made me truly terrified. I've hurtled through a forest in a rally car, rolled and revved on an off-road course and even been bashed to bits in a stock car. But none of them has really scared me.
Until now.
Though it is known as a somewhat docile hobby, and is even known as the bane of some motorists' lives purely due its generally slow speed, caravanning really got the better of me.
Waiting for my coach, Gordon Reid, to turn up, I considered what I'd put myself up for. Towing a huge caravan around Aberdeenshire with its windy country roads. Gulp.
Thankfully, when Gordon arrived, he quickly put my nerves at ease. I wouldn't be put straight out on the roads. Instead, I would be introduced to the manoeuvres required to pass the requisite B+E Practical Car and Trailer Driving test in the safety of a training area. Phew.
