Mar. 31--Four candidates are running for three seats on the Superior School Board in the April 7 election.
Incumbents Len Albrecht and Bonnie Baker are running for re-election, and Josh Christie and Curt Vanderstelt have also entered the race. Board member Richard Van Rossem's seat is open, along with those of Albrecht and Baker, because Van Rossem has chosen to step down after the spring election.
Len Albrecht
Albrecht was first named to the Superior school board in 2000 and has now served three 3-year terms. When he was elected nine years ago, he said he wished to serve the community, and his feelings have remained unchanged.
"I feel I still have a lot to contribute," Albrecht said.
Albrecht, a project manager for Lakehead Constructors, currently serves as school board president and has a daughter in high school. When asked about his leadership style, Albrecht said he prefers to address issues in a non-confrontational manner.
"I feel I'm level-headed, not real outspoken or in your face," Albrecht said.
