Manila Water posts record income of P2.8B in 2008.

THE MANILA WATER CO INC. posted its highest ever net income of P2.8 billion in 2008 from P2.4 billion in 2007, officials said.

Company officials yesterday reported the figures during Manila Waters stockholders meeting, saying that capital investments had borne fruit.

Chair Fernando Zobel de Ayala said in his report that the figure was the highest in the companys history.

MWCI president Antonino Aquino said investments had increased the companys customer base and efficiency, helping it grow its revenue to P8.9 billion from P7.3 billion.
