Mar. 31--Winning the right to build more homes, GL Homes got the go-ahead Monday to almost double the size of a new neighborhood in Palm Beach County's Agricultural Reserve. County commissioners approved GL Homes' plan to build almost 1,000 homes on 996 acres between Lyons Road and U.S. 441, about a mile north of Clint Moore Road. In 2006, the commission approved plans for the Hyder property that called for 554 homes. The new plan enables GL Homes to transfer the development rights from nearby land owned by the South Florida Water Management District and use them to build more homes than would normally be allowed on the land.
