Mar. 31--The deaths of two Muscovy ducks shot by arrows within a couple of days in the same Miramar community have South Florida wildlife workers worried they could be seeing an increase in cruelty against animals.

"People just don't care," said Eunice Sivertsen, head of Duck Haven, a not-for-profit injured duck rescue organization based in her Margate home. "I have seen more atrocities this year than ever before. I don't know if it's the economy making people edgy and mean, or what."
