Mar. 30--The Hollywood man who intervened with deadly force in a Burger King robbery last week is in good spirits as he recovers from gunshot wounds, a neighbor said Sunday.

John Landers, 45, was shot repeatedly Tuesday afternoon when he confronted a robber at a Burger King on Biscayne Boulevard at Northeast 54th Street, Miami police said. Landers, who was armed and had a concealed weapons permit, exchanged gunfire with the assailant, Johnny Jean-Baptiste, 18, who died in the shootout, police said.
