With the iPhone and iPod touch getting so much attention lately, we decided to get the info on the applications that dress up your new gadget. And, with everyone on a budget, we selected some of our favorite free applications to make your device a little more useful (and entertaining!):

Flashlight

Trying to fight your way through your darkened dorm room while your roommate is sleeping? Lose your new shoes under your bed? The Flashlight application allows you to turn your iPhone or iPod into, you guessed it, a flashlight by filling the screen with a bright white light.

Pandora

If you haven't discovered Pandora yet, now's the time. Pandora is a website that finds preferences in your listening habits and creates a customized radio station that plays only music you like. Now that technology comes to your iPhone. You can generate a station based on everything from classical music to '80s Pop. It's up to you!
