Environmental firm hopes to expand at downtown site. (Jones and Stokes Associates Inc. to lease planned office building across its headquarters in Sacramento, CA)
Jones & Stokes Associates Inc., a Sacramento-based environmental firm, is negotiating to expand into a site across the road from its V Street office.
It has also opened a small Bakersfield office, and this summer hopes to firm up plans for offices east of California.
Jones & Stokes is the sixth-largest environmental engineering and consulting firm in Sacramento. It employs more than 230 people and has offices in Irvine; Bellevue, Wash.; Phoenix; and now Bakersfield.
The firm has continued to grow despite an overall slowdown in the industry.
"We're working in natural resource sciences, which are becoming more important," said Curtis Spencer, company president.
