Australian internet service provider iiNet has advised the Federal Government that it is withdrawing from the proposed internet filtering trial. iiNet's managing director Michael Malone said the company only agreed to participate in the trial to demonstrate that the policy was fundamentally flawed, a waste of taxpayers' money and would not work.
