Halloween is long over, but the Daily Advertiser of Lafayette, Louisiana, reported that on January 27, Joseph Noel, 25, of Lafayette donned a Halloween mask in an attempt to gain a treat--in the form of a new car. Noel approached a vehicle, and brandishing a gun, took the victim's car, and sped away.

The victim didn't waste a moment but reported the theft immediately. Even while the thief fled the scene, police in the area were alerted, and one officer spotted the car. He attempted to stop the vehicle in his patrol car, but Noel sped away, evading the police. Noel ended up colliding with a parked car, but still he refused to surrender, and he ran from the scene on foot, with officers in hot pursuit.
