Leader of Shi'ite Muslims, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky has raised alarm over alleged attempt by the police in Kaduna State to frame him up on trumped up charges of gun running and using the group's headquarters in Zaria for the training of militants.
Zakzaky told newsmen, in an interview in Zaria, that the move by the police was not only malicious but a strategy to dislodge members of this group.
According to him, the state Police Command in its "Intelligence Report" to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mike Okiro which was dated February 13, 2009, accused him of the heinous offences.
