Cars driven by two top local drivers allegedly were tampered with on Rally Norway, Feb. 13-15. One or several people changed the shock settings on Henning Solberg's Ford Focus and Mads Ostberg's Subaru Impreza, making the cars undriveable and provoking anger from both drivers.
Solberg's suspension was interfered with the night before the rally's shakedown, and he initially questioned whether his engineer had set the shocks correctly, but it was found that the work had been done properly. To general concern, the same thing happened to Ostberg's Impreza in parc ferme the night before the event's final day.
"It was very, very strange, said Solberg. "I just don't know how it can happen. But they were definitely not right. The car's handling was everywhere.
