Mar. 12--The Daily Telegram, Superior, Wis., Obituaries Engve "Swede" Jussila, 80, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, March 11, 2009. He was born on September 8, 1928, in Chatham, Mich., the son of Matt and Elma Jussila. Swede served in Japan during World War II in the United States Army. He retired in December 1990 as Second Engineer for Interlake Steamship Company. He received the Honorary Governor Award from the local Moose Lodge No. 606. People who knew him best would say he was the "chief egg peeler." He was also a longtime member of the Legion of the Moose and a member of the Thomas F. Stein VFW Post No. 1091. On September 26, 1953, he married Shirley Brill in Michigan and the celebrated 55 years of marriage. In addition to his wife Shirley, Swede is survived by two sons, Toivo (Dawn) Jussila, Charles (Bonnie) Jussila, both of Iron River, WI; one daughter, Lisa (Allen Avery) Jussila, Superior; four grandchildren, Shawn, Miranda, Brooke …
