Over the past fifteen years, women in Latin America have struggled to counter the negative repercussions of economic crisis and retrenchment of the nation-state. The essays in this edited volume explore the myriad ways women have organized throughout the region to protect (for themselves, their families, and their communities) endangered livelihoods and citizenship rights.
