Corporate nomadic desktop neutral to Netscape-Microsoft duel

While the big vendors vie for mindshare in the war over "push" data formats, smaller companies have stepped in with cross-vendor solutions that help customers stay neutral to the battle. A good example is DataChannel, which recently announced tools that h elp corporations manage information coming from different sources over multiple push channels.

DataChannel was founded last October by David Pool. Poole's previous venture was the founding of Spry, which he began in 1989 and sold to CompuServe in 1995. His new firm focuses on tools that support "web-top" corporate applications.
