International Women's Day has been observed as a day of remembrance to celebrate the achievements of women worldwide and to further spread their message of peace and love to future generations.

Celebrated annually on March 8, since the turn of the last century, thousands of events are held throughout the world and this year's theme for International Women's Day is 'Women and Men, United to End Violence Against Women and Girls'.
