The pounds 9 million Britvic media pitch has taken an interesting turn, with roster creative agencies, including Bartle Bogle Hegarty and CHI & Partners, set to pitch for the planning part of the account via their media planning arms.

The decision to separate media planning and buying has not apparently pleased everyone, with some media agencies declining to contest the buying part of the business.

After a long delay, the MTV media pitch, which was originally called in September last year, will take place today (Thursday). Agencies in the frame are Maxus, Vizeum, the incumbent Equinox and one other mystery agency.

Friday will be a busy day for agencies that are knee-deep in eBay. The global auction site will hold the first round of pitches then as it looks to consolidate its pounds 22 million pan-European ad account with non-roster and roster agencies.

Progress has also been made on the pounds 2 million direct marketing pitch for Thomson. The TUI-owned travel operator has eliminated Chemistry ...
