ACCOUNTANT She's going places Claire Ellison may have started out small, but she's planning on taking her auditing skills to a global stage when she finishes her training contract The modern day accountant has shed the stereotypical grey-suited, bean-counting male introvert image and is more sophisticated, cosmopolitan and, in Claire Ellison's case, female.

Ellison is in her third year of articles at Grant Thornton, an auditing, accounting, tax practice and advisory company based in Sandton, Johannesburg. I chose this company because it was smaller than the other big four and afforded me the opportunity to grow, she says.
