Rich content abounds in these student-teacher Web collaborations
It's time to give special thanks to all the great teachers and students out there who boost the educational value of the World Wide Web by creating their own rewarding sites. Thousands of schools now have Web presence--check out Web66's International Registry (http://web66. coled.umn.edu/schools.html) to find out who's up and running. I've selected a few special sites that illustrate how the Internet is changing the way we teach and learn.
THE VOCAL POINT--ELECTRONIC STUDENT NEWSPAPER

Students at Centennial Middle School in Boulder, Colo., are responsible for creating and managing this outstanding online newspaper. Each issue centers on such topics as animal lights or technology. Centennial students write most of the articles, but they also welcome contributions from others.
The major attraction of The Vocal Point is its emphasis on good wilting. The students' well-researched articles cover a wide range of styles and types, and often include hyperlinks to related Web sites. The students have integrated appropriate photos, drawings, and multimedia creations.
The Vocal Point has already received several outstanding site awards. Thanks to Scott Dixon, the computer teacher who coordinates the project, for assisting in this commendable educational venture.
