Edsa 1 and the coconut farmers.

FOR MANY COCONUT FARMERS, EDSA 1 does not mean much. Nor does the Administrative Order 255 on moral renewal recently issued by Malacanang. These farmers have become skeptical.
One farmer leader recounted that when former US President Bill Clinton was running for office and was asked what the main issue was in the election, Clinton replied, It's the economy, stupid!
This leader continued: Moral renewal speeches cannot straighten out our government. If government officials ask me what the solution is, I will tell them: Its transparency, stupid! With transparency, moral renewal will be forced to follow.
If transparency will encourage moral renewal, then the good governance envisioned by Edsa 1 will …
