As of now, IndyCar boasts 17 confirmed entries for 2009, including four from Andretti Green, two apiece from Ganassi and Penske and one each from Vision, Foyt, Panther, KV Racing Technology, Dreyer & Reinbold, Newman/Haas/Lanigan, HVM, Luczo Dragon and Team 3G.

Various reports have Robert Doornbos and Milka Duno joining Graham Rahal at Newman/Haas/Lanigan, but the team had not confirmed the signings as of AW's deadline. Buddy Rice has a letter of intent to drive for Rubicon Race Team, which recently merged with Pacific Coast Motorsports. Sponsorship is still needed, team officials said.

Teams owned by Dale Coyne and Eric Bachelart also are expected to field at least one car each.
