WASHINGTON--Prime Minister Taro Aso and U.S. President Barack Obama were to hold their first talks Tuesday at White House, at which the two leaders were expected to reaffirm the multifaceted nature of the Japan-U.S. alliance as one that can respond not only to bilateral issues but also to global problems.
