INTERACTIVE Intelligence Inc (ININ), which develops software for call centres, is optimistic of increasing its sales and market share this year despite the global economic slowdown.

As major economies head into a recession, companies in most sectors are downsizing and reducing expenses, including on software licensing.

However, ININ remains upbeat.

"We see growth in the outsourcing industry. In fact, in the last quarter, we saw a lot of growth from companies in the outsourcing business. They bought more licences from us.

"We even saw banks buying more licences from us as they wanted to do more (debt) collection …
