Feb. 23--St. Andrew's girls' and boys' water polo teams are allowed to use the word powerhouse when describing their program.

While other high school boys' and girls' water polo teams in Palm Beach County are still playing catch-up, the Scots continue to improve and raise the bar each season.

With a multimillion dollar aquatic facility, travel budget and experienced coaches, it's no wonder the program has some of the most talented players in the state, including returnees Caroline Young and Mario Cardenas, the South Florida Sun Sentinel's 2008 Girl and Boy Players of the Year.
