Recruiting Madiba for narrow agendas HAS former president Nelson Mandela lost his innocence? Is he now a former saint? These questions arise, of course, because last Sunday, Madiba broke his long silence and endorsed the African National Congress (ANC). This happened at an ANC election rally at Dutywa, in Eastern Cape, a province that is fiercely contested by the ANC and the Congress of the People (COPE).
